Mental health is a hot topic at the dinner table, school, in entertainment and news, and more. It’s a thing you hear talked about from your chapters to home, to school. Some places talked about in the negative light, sometimes talked about in the positive. There's no universal solution to easing our minds, but I here are some tips to keep your mind focused.

Exercising is probably the most popular and recommended method for a healthy mind. Whether that be yoga, free weights, body weight, or other methods, exercising is proven to release stress and help clear your head, as well as boost serotonin and dopamine. Paired with exercising is eating healthy. You should stay away from junk food, frozen food, and boxed food. What you should be eating is preferably fruits and vegetables in moderation, a bit of carbs, fish, meat, and an ample amount of liquid.

Meditating is probably the most underrated form of activity that you can do to relax. Meditating is proven to clear your mind and take out anxiety and depression. Some people look at it and believe that isn’t true, but what people don’t know is that you have to be consistent for over 30 days, in order to reap the reward of meditation. Just like going to the gym, there are also many versions of meditation, such as guided meditation, open eye meditation, and closed eye meditation.

Sleeping is probably everyone’s favorite activity, whether or not you get enough of it. When you don't get enough sleep, you may build up anxiety and depression, and experience much more negative effects. It is advised for teens, like us, to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily.

Whether or not these work for you, make a commitment to doing something that keeps your mind healthy and your body happy. It's on us to take care of ourselves and exercising, meditating, and sleeping are three great ways to start doing that.
